Peonies have never been my favorite flowers until I moved to the South of the United States 10+ years ago. As it often happens in life, we revisit and reevaluate things.

In Russia peonies were the flowers kids brought their teachers on the last day of school. Nothing more, really. Just average. Good old peonies.

Today my attitude towards peonies changed: I see them as refined, delicate, absolutely enchanting flowers. (How come I never noticed it before?!) Should I add a few words about their divine aroma! (A couple of years ago I even tried to find a nice perfume that would keep their sweet smell for me - but alas!)

I have peonies in my garden now, and every spring finds me hovering over them, talking to them and greeting first the red shoots and then gorgeous flowers of all colors.

After the preamble, may we proceed to the main topic of using Peony theme in home design. Of course, I am not the only one fascinated by Peonies. People love them not only in their bouquets, but also in the form of art or home decor. Here are some inspiration photos.
